I'm Tim Klapdor, and this is Heart Soul Machine ❤️ 🔥 ⚙️ – my personal site and Domain of One's Own, where I write about learning, design and technology.
I'm Tim Klapdor, a digital creative, learner and expert generalist based in Adelaide, South Australia. I've spent nearly twenty years in higher education, working in the space where learning, design and technology meet.
I'm the Capability Development Manager in the Learning Futures team at Adelaide University. I've also started bringing my own learning design work together at Pattern Learning, a design studio for learning. It's home to three connected frameworks – Bloom's 3D, Learning Types, and Learning Patterns.

The Name
The name was inspired by the lyrics of a death 'n' roll song. Brining the idea of Heart and Soul and our human attributes was a nice contrast to the technology I was working with on a day-to-day basis – the Machine. I first used the name when I set up on Wordpress.com back in 2011 to record an upcoming trip to the US and that has now evolved into this space.
